Meet the Doctor

DTCM Jinaan Al-Shehabi, L.Ac

Doctorate in Traditional Chinese Medicine

B.S Systems Physiology

Dr. Al-Shehabi is a graduate of Five Branches University in San Jose, is a Licensed California Acupuncturist and a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Dr. Jinaan Al-Shehabi discovered acupuncture when one of her family members struggled with chronic and severe headaches. Her family member was referred to an acupuncturist by a friend and had immense improvement in pain management with less severity and duration of headaches. This made Dr. Al-Shehabi curious about the medicine and she tried it herself for her own health problems, problems for which conventional medicine can only provide synthetic pills. Being a supporter of a drug free life, Dr. Al-Shehabi studied the science for herself so she can help others heal the natural way.

Dr. Al-Shehabi specializes in women’s health, stress management and pain management.

Dr. Al-Shehabi listens intently to her patients' concerns and develops individualized treatment plans that help each patient on the road to healing from within. She helps her patients take their health into their own hands through diet, exercise and life-style changes. Dr. Al-Shehabi aims to ensure the comfort of her patients through natural, safe and drug free preventative medicine.

Our Services

  • Acupuncture

Acupuncture treatments include a one-on-one meeting with our doctor, who will then determine what acupuncture point combinations are best for you. Acupuncture involves the placement of thin needles into certain points on the body and retaining them for a time frame that ranges on average from 25-45 min.

The doctor may sometimes chose to combine acupuncture therapy with electrical stimulation. This treatment modality is usually used to help relieve aches and pains.

  • Dry Cupping

Cupping is another treatment modality that helps relieve muscle pain. Cupping is a method that uses class cups as a suction tool to pull on the skin. It works to open up the fascia layer and increase blood flow to the local area to assist in healing.

This is not the same as Hijama. Dry cupping is done as an adjunctive therapy with acupuncture to help alleviate pains and aches.

  • Chinese Herbal Medicine

Herbal formulas may be added onto your treatment based on the condition we are trying to help you with. Herbs provide a complementary treatment with the acupuncture, or as a stand alone treatment modality depending on your condition. We only use herbs that have passed testing and are cleared for the absence of heavy metals and pesticides. Our herbal formulas come in the form of pills or powders to make them more convenient for our patients.

Our doctor may also recommend dietary changes to help you with your condition.
